School System 1973 Dago Benz, Ludi Seyssel, Peter Brockhaus, Ernstfried Prada and Per Faestad were the first to develop a system for teaching windsurfing in response to the sport's explosive growth in Europe. In the U.S., Glenn Taylor designed and made a simulator for teaching, and Windsurfing International developed the Certified Windsurfer Sailing Schools of North America, which later became the International Windsurfer Sailing Schools. By 1984, 2,600 instructors had taught over 34,000 students to windsurf in the U.S. alone. Armed with their certification, these students could rent a Windsurfer anywhere in the world. |
