Windsurfing today   Windsurfing today is beyond exciting. It's extreme, radical and inspiring. But seemingly, more people watch the sport than learn it. It's perceived as an ultimate athlete's sport, reserved for a few who dedicate themselves to it and have the sponsors to support it.   My hope is that this perception changes to allow windsurfing to also return to a recreational-oriented sport. Because unlike the conversation Jim and Hoyle had that day looking down at the wind and surf conditions over 40 years ago, there's always some place with wind and water that's not too crowded to go windsurfing with a few friends, or make a few new friends. And you can rig up quickly. Less can be more. Simple pleasures can be had no matter what body of water you sail on, or how unsophisticated your equipment.
